The neighborhood named after this fruit. The fruit contains two seeds in the shape of a heart. The two seeds represent Mamey I and II, forming a single neighborhood.

The wavy stripe represents the Guaynabo River, which begins in Mamey. The blue color represents the clear blue sky. The curved lines lead us on a journey through the mountains of the area.

Sugar cane

Agriculture was one of the main activities for the residents of the area; sugar cane was one of the most important crops.
